About Me

My parents were creative people so I inherited love of beauty and appreciation of technical skills. I studied art in college, and have a graduate degree in Education. For 35 years I taught preschool through graduate school and retired from the CA Dept. of Education.  Then I found another wonderful life as a mosaicist. I am basically self taught with some help from friends and the internet.

Stones and rocks are nature's sculpture.  I use them often. But I can be inspired by any natural setting: scenes of Minnesota lakes and trees or California's  beaches and rivers.  Abstract mosaics are not easy, but the most fun.  

I especially enjoy commission requests . They challenge me to understand and then portray what the purchaser has envisioned.

My mosaics are made with stones, stained glass, crystals, shells, mirror glass, sea glass, ceramic or porcelain tiles, pieces of pottery, and a connection to Spirit. All flat mosaics are assembled on lightweight backer board and are ready to hang.  They can be made weather-proof. One piece has been outdoors through five Minnesota winters.
